At Adrian Wright’s Martial Arts Academy, it is our intention to bring to you the very best martial arts training we can and to help you achieve your goals by utilising your training time and our instruction in the most effective way possible

Here are a few ways in which our academy benefits our students:

  Respect:

We don't just teach kids how to kick and punch - we teach them respect. Not just respect for their elders and teachers, but also respect for each-other. We promote an atmosphere where everyone helps one-other to learn at their own pace.

Confidence:

Kids that do Martial Arts for a while always achieve higher levels of confidence. All children at our academy are eased into combat gently and wear protective body-armour so that they can learn without getting hurt (in-fact our adults wear body-armour too). When children get bullied, this can often be solved by the child gaining the confidence to look his aggressor in the eyes.

Self-Defence:

Unfortunately, we live in a society where children sometimes need to be 'street-wise' to protect them-selves. We show kids how to fight-back enough to get out of danger, whilst also stressing that Martial Arts is for defence only, and has been for centuries.

Concentration:

Kids usually notice pretty soon that the people who pay attention and practice the most are the one's that progress the quickest. So before long they're listening intently to the Sensei (the class instructor), and if they do that in their karate classes they'll probably do it in school too.

  Healthy Body:
Martial Arts is a great cardio-vascular exercise.

Healthy Mind:

Martial Arts promotes the benefits of a positive outlook on life. Like, persevering with things, and being helpful to others. As children grow into adults, Karate can give them something positive to focus on rather than alcohol or drugs.

It's Fun:

That's not a bad reason is it?! Kids keep coming back because they enjoy it. As well as the traditional training, we also play games that keep the kids fit. We arrange competitions and get togethers, pick kids for our demonstration team and have tons of ways to motivate children that you'll see when you start training with us.
