  Ian Hill I re-started my martial arts study after my son joined Adrian’s as something to do to keep fit, too many years later on my main interests are in self defence and applied traditional martial arts although I find it all fascinating, Kick Boxing, MMA, Judo, and Jo work its all things to put into the box of experience. I find Kata and its traditional application brought forward into the modern world a great source of knowledge and inspiration as well as a way of building mind and body. Apart from the never ending learning and passing the knowledge on to the class the most rewarding part of teaching is the feedback and thirst for more which comes back and revitalises my own interests. From a personal point the best part of training and teaching with the academy is the ability to be involved in something with both my son and daughter on a day to day basis. |

I first began to study karate in my childhood and loved the way I felt as I trained when my confidence and fitness grew. With a move of house and area aged 12 I had to leave my karate club behind. I was never able to find another club to match it and it wasn't until my early twenties I made a long overdue return to my study of martial arts. I signed up to Adrian's classes and my passion for everything they taught me exploded further as I became one of his instructors several years later. As a secondary school teacher I have found the confidence and skills gained through martial arts have enriched every aspect of my school teaching on a daily basis. In our Martial Arts Academy I thoroughly enjoy seeing our students thrive and develop a broad range of skills during their classes with us. My own tuition with Adrian and the other instructors continues to be highly rewarding: the cross training in the various martial arts we study in our classes conmstantly provide new challenges. |
