	Grading takes place every 3 months from White Belt (8th Kyu) to Brown Belt (3rd Kyu) and every 6 months up to Brown Belt (1st Kyu) and then 12 months to Black Belt (1st Dan).

	Please Note:- Gradings will only take place under the Chief Instructors Discretion.

	This academy is combat and self-defence orientated. Student’s combat skills will be under observation along with their Kata when taking grades until he or she becomes a FIRST DAN BLACK BELT

From 1st Dan onwards, the student will be graded on all-round combat skills, including grappling, throwing, strangles, etc taken from other martial arts, such as Judo.

To be eligible for a grade, a student must train for no less than twice a week.

WHAT IS KATA?
KATA is a combination of individual techniques, put into various sequences in which the practitioner encounters imaginary opponents. KATA’s must be learnt for grades in the order shown above.
